Why does Benz Network need to know the nationality of the original master copyright owner when my label owns (or has licensed) a track’s master rights?

Some performance rights organizations pay adjusted rates (or don’t pay out royalties at all) to rightsholders located in certain territories. This is a result of certain countries not participating in the Rome Convention for the Protection of Performers, Producers of Phonograms and Broadcasting Organizations. Choose the country where the original owner of the master copyright was based or incorporated at the time of recording. The original master copyright owner can be an individual person or a business entity.
